Thank you! I am looking forward to your recommendations for City Council District 2. The last thing I want to do is vote for a progressive who will carry on in the tradition of the pre-mayoral-candidate Carmen Rubio or Jo Ann Hardesty. I wish Gonzalez could clone himself and run in all the districts, but not nearly as much as I wish he had had the good sense not to spend taxpayer dollars trying to burnish his Wikipedia page.
However, I fear that all the work that has been going on largely out of sight to set up the bureaucracy under the city manager is going to have wokeness hard-wired into it in ways that will be difficult for the voters to get at to undo.
In the meantime, will City Hall chill freedom of expression this year once again by scolding Portlanders not to engage in cultural appropriation with their choice of Halloween costumes?
