That said, the muddled middle seems to be waking up to the nasty reality that the self righteous grievance crowd is formidable. That we have our own Swamp and Swamp creatures who all are stricken with cultural Marxist venom - pumped into them by PPS, local media, social media and our ruling political/non profit/union class. They just don’t know how to fight back - and many are too busy trying to live life to invest life cycles fighting the Leftist Borg.
Being from Oregon and the Portland area, this is so unfortunate. Portland was SO cool pre 2010. After that, I don’t understand really what happened. I went to PSU 2009-2010 and it was awesome living downtown and I felt safe.
Now I’ve moved away from Oregon because things are bad almost everywhere.
It comes down to the minds of newer residents. Oregon's old anti-California stance seems to have been legitimate, since that's where a lot of young radicals moved to Portland from, notably picking up after 2010.
Washington state comes in second for migration, and we've seen the types Seattle breeds. Some of it seems due to overcast PNW weather where people spend too much time indoors overthinking topics like race, on drugs.

A key to cracking the weird "compassionate" yet pro-criminal attitude in Portland could be to make them see what true compassion is. They don't follow it all the way to the end victims. They're obsessed with victimhood, so stay on that topic using new angles.
They can get rattled if you convince them that concepts like "harm reduction" are absurd, since drug users victimize a lot of people with theft and broken family ties. When they say blacks in gang zones are "profiled" by cops, ask them "Do you want cops to ignore the facts and let them shoot up neighborhoods?" Grill them on that point. Emphasize that other blacks are the main victims.
Don't let them stray from their claimed empathy for all humanity. Force them to follow the full path of their bleeding hearts. They may not admit you're right until they leave and get introspective later. Many are just desperate joiners and have weaker convictions when alone. Observations of Antifa members cornered solo have shown how that works.
Substitute Portland for "'E". Here's the deal, pal:

Portland, like America, is gone and ain't comin' back. Felons and non-citizens will soon vote in our elections both local and national. The people who are in charge of all local polities hearabouts are deeply poorly educated, opportunistic, craven, narcissists devoted to a stark and discredited ideology that makes barren everything that it breathes upon.
Who votes for such creatures? Look around you and those pious people around you either voted for all that has come to pass or countenanced its implementation.
Saw a good one the other day: mom's had taken their toddlers and youngest to a drag queen social event and one of those swell bearded chappies in a tutu told the mom's he wanted to be licked where he peed! It was met with the most affable and engaged laughter.
